Have you noticed that everyone beats themselves up about something? It's human nature, it seems, to never be complacent with what you have. With who you are. Is this some latent survival mechanisim perhaps? Did feeling sad all the time make primal humans 0.01% more likely to hunt for better food or seek better shelter in the caveman days, so a couple thousand years down the line we all got stuck with it? I don't know.
The specter haunting me at present is... well, this is going on the public part of the website, so I won't write it out in detail. But... look, if you're out there, beating yourself up about something, try to look at it from another perspective, ok? Would someone else really care all that much about that thing you said? Is it really a personal failiure of yours to not post on your blog every month, despite what you may have said?
Does the shape of your face really make you unlovable, or have you just spent so long looking at it that you can't see it as anything else?
No, 'Unlovable' wouldn't be the right word... It's more like.. not you. Like when you imagine your ideal self, it and that are not compatable. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
